100 Languages Playgroup

The August 100 Languages Playgroup was a huge success.  We had over 20 new families come to join us for story, song, creativity and exploration.  Our youngest was 3 months old and had the range of children  to 11.  Over the four weeks we enjoyed having families from our Huron Valley area.  We look forward to seeing you all this fall.

Happy September 2011

Happy New School Year!!

We are excited and ready to start our 2011-2012 school year.  We have had a few transitions with our teching staff.  Ms. Jen has moved to our Traditional Preschool, Ms. Christine is back teaching with Ms. Jennifer in Full day Preschool.  Ms. Jamie will be be our before and after school teacher, Ms. Wendy is with our infants from 7-2 and Ms. Milissa is with our infants form 2-6, Ms. Lana is with our Toddlers from 9-5.

We are very excited about this fall’s program.  If you are new to our school, we welcome you and your family.  At Building Blocks Preschool-An Early Childhood Learning Communit-iy we offer a Reggio-inspired education for your child.  We start as early as infant and toddler and follow your child through kindergarten.  Together, we create a foundation for children to develop a love of learning through self-discovery, imagination and creativity.  Within our supportive and safe environment, learning is facilitated by fostering respect for oneself, each other, and the environment.

The primary objectives are to help each child develop his or her own personality, broaden interests, build social skills and use his or her curiosity and creativity. Time is provided to all children to investigate, imagine, listen, observe and probe for deeper understanding. Their natural inquisitiveness is valued and each one is respected and honored as a young learner.  In a process that allows children to explore and see relationships, they are encouraged to talk about what they see and learn and document these important moments of insight.

We are here to build the foundation for a love of learning.

About

Hi- I am Suzanne Gabli, Owner and Executive Director of Building Blocks Preschool, here in Highland MI.  I moved  to Highland in 1993.  I love this community and the people who live here.  This is a great place to raise a family.  In 1996 I married Joseph Gabli and we have three children.  We have fond memories of our childhood; being out in nature, playing and loved the imagination and creativity that we had as a child.  In 2004 we decided to invest in our community with a high quality early childhood educational center.  Personally,  I was inspired to create a new learning environment where children are respected as individuals and are inspired to learn from the heart.  I am an advocate for children of all ages.  The Reggio Emilia approach to learning falls within my strong belief that all children are filled with joy, competency, power and resourcefulness.  We believe in the, 100 languages of a child and that young children need many mediums to express themselves and the world around them.  We
believe that given challenges, support, kindness, and love their accomplishments are vast and outstanding.  With guidance, children together, work hard, play hard and care for each other and the community around them while exploring new and varied topics and questions.  Our teaching staff, here at our school.  They are amazing and wonderful people who care deeply about children and making each day here engaging with wonderful learning opportunities and fun.  We provide genuine and authentic learning experiences.Today is the present, enjoy every minute of it.

We offer a Reggio Emilia Inspired Classroom and Curriculum. Children are provided with rich materials and experiences that promote expression, curiosity, problem solving and positive social interactions.  The educator facilitates students learning by encouraging questions and problem solving as children interact with materials and each other. Building Blocks Preschool offers a variety of high quality early care and education programs to meet the needs of the Huron Valley Community.  We build strong, long lasting respectful relationships and grow in that relationship with you and your child.
